Drawing is where I started, where I start, and where I return.
At a young age I proved my determination and desire to go to art school to my parents by hopping on the 7:02am train to New York every morning to take a year-long, 4-hour figure drawing class at the Art Students’ League. My love for drawing was immediate. I continued on to Maine College of Art and Design and upon graduation won a scholarship residency to the prestigious Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture. And then it was on to New York City, living at the Chelsea Hotel in the midst of the 90s art scene. I have never stopped drawing, I’m never without a notebook, and have never stopped seeing the beauty of the world.
